Course objectives
The aim of the course text and translation of scientific (linguistics, sociology, history) is the application of basic knowledge translation processes in the translation of a specific scientific text from the area of humanities. The course will be in lecture focused on the introduction to the theory of translation of scientific texts. In the seminar part of the course students will apply acquired knowledge to his own translation of the linguistic, sociological, historical texts from French to Czech.

Teaching methods
Familiarization with the theoretical problems of translation of scientific texts from the humanities. Translation of texts from French into Czech. Joint analysis of specific texts translated, defining translation processes. Application of acquired knowledge on authentic texts.
Assessment methods
Final written exam - language text of the thematic focus. Condition for admission to the examination is active participation in seminar   (80%) and continuous production of the specified translation.
