Course objectives
In terms of morphology, the lectures will cover the system of derived verb stems and further syntactic structures important for reading Arabic texts as well as for understanding spoken literary language. Students will be gradually acquainted with literary language of mass media. Emphasis will be placed on the development of speech skills. Presumably also basics of specialized terminology IV.

Teaching methods
Reading and listening comprehension (filling gap, short answer questions, multiple choice), translation, topical conversation, conversation based on recently discussed grammar rules.
Assessment methods
Written test at the end of the term: reading comprehension (short answer questions), listening comprehension (short answer questions, gap filling), translation. Class attendance is not required during the term but the students are strongly recommended to do so. Passmark – 60%.
