- Course objectives
- Studenti se mají seznámit s dílem Gualtera Castellionského (mimo Alexandreidu, která je součástí povínné četby). Číst a vykládat budeme Gualterovy veršované legendy: O sv. Brandanu, o sv. Alexiovi a o Tomáši Becketovi. Budeme sledovat nástroje autorovy poetiky: rytmickou stavbu, básnické ozdoby orantus facilis i difficilis, vazbu na hagiografii, vagantskou poezii, a zejména na hagiografická schémata vrcholného středověku. Srovnávat budeme tyto skladby s jejich paralelami v jiných žánrech, v jiných obdobích středověku, resp. (Brendan) v národních jazycích.
