Completion of courses Personality Psychology I. and History of Psychology is obligatory.It is assumed at least partial knowledge of General Psychology and Methodology.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to give an overview of the main theories of personality. The lectures are devoted to selected theories of personality which represent main paradigms in psychology in 20. and 21.century - psychoanalysis, behaviorism, humanistic psychology, trait approach and social-cognitive approach.
Another aim of the course is the integration of theoretical and empirical level of research in interindividual differences. Obligatory part of the course is a research participation. Students will take part in research projects being conducted by members of the Department of Psychology (especially in the Psychological laboratory).
At the end of this course the student will be able to link theoretical knowledge and acquired experiences with their practical use in research.

Erikson, H. Murray. 3. Humanistic psychology, existential analysis: C. R. Rogers, K. Goldstein, A. H. Maslow, V. E. Frankl. 4. Behaviorism, neo-behaviorism: I. P. Pavlov, J. B. Watson, B. F. Skinner, J. T. Dollard a N. E. Miller. 5.Trait approach: G. Allport, R. B. Cattell, H. J. Eysenck, Five Factor Theory. 6. Cognitive theories: G. Kelly, K. Lewin. 7. Social learning theories and a social-cognitive approach: A. Bandura, W. Mischel, J. Rotter, M. Seligman. 8. Advances in personality research: positive psychology, feminist psychology.
