- Course objectives
- The aim of the seminar is an overview of the history of Romanesque architecture in Bohemia and Moravia during the 9th to the 12th centuries, namely in the broader kontext of Central Europe. At the end of the course students should have basic knowledge of fundamental literature, should be aware of the historical kontext and they should also be able to understand and explain regional and general phenomenon of architecture and its decoration. They should be able to recognize different methodological approaches to research in this area not only history of art, but also history, archeology and monument care.

Construction activities in the period of Oldřich, Břetislav I. a Spytihněv II. 5. Vyšehrad of Vratislav II. and the oldest benedictines 6. The architecture of Moravia in the „Dark 11th century“ and of the first appanage princes 7. Construction achievements in the time of Vladislav I., Soběslav I. a II. 8. Vladislav II. and his wives as founders and builders 9. The architecture of Moravia in the period of Jindřich Zdík and the end of appanage principalities
