Course objectives
PJA 122 subject - Základy polské ortografie (basis of Polish spelling) is the part of practical language subjects cycle Praktická polština - part I. This is one semester course encompassing the basic knowledge of spelling and punctuation. The main stress is put on this spelling aspects which can cause troubles during the preliminary phase of the language learning. These are: soft sounds, soundness and soundlessness, nose sounds, ó-u, rz – ż, ch – h, etc. The basis of this course are varied exercises and dictations. The level of Polish knowledge after this 1st semester course is A1-A2 ‘basis level’.
After completing the course students will be able to:
- use information and lexis in communication with native speakers
- build correct grammatical structures
- read, write and speak in proper Polish
- know Polish orthography rules
