- Course objectives
- This series of seminars aims to equip its graduates with the skills for practical work with the autographs of prominent figures, most of them active in Bohemia and Moravia, from the period roughly from the National Revival to the present. Extra attention will be paid to literary figures (writers, poets), historians, composers and other public figures.
- Syllabus
- 1. The undergraduate will improve their ability to interpret generally tricky personal manuscripts by the named individuals;
- 2. They will acquaint themselves with editorial techniques aimed at making personal correspondence accessible and publishing literary works preserved in the form of autograph manuscripts;
- 3. They will carry out a comparison of autographs with any printed editions of the literary works and texts in question;
- 4. They will acquaint themselves with the method of comparing school writing with individuals’ handwriting;
- 5. They will acquaint themselves with the main principles of scientific graphology
