- Course objectives
- The course focuses on working with Mediaeval documentary material relating largely to Czech Mediaeval diplomatics. Students will become familiar with the methods and limitations of using graphic and stylistic analyses of documents. When the course is completed, students will have learned the basics for analysing Mediaeval diplomatic material.
- Syllabus
- The seminar is focused mainly on the reading and the subsequent analysis of documentary material relating largely to Czech Mediaeval diplomatics. The discussion surrounding the documents will focus on developing the fundamentals of graphic and stylistic analyses of documents from various areas of publishing, interpreting problematic data, as well as evaluating the specific circumstances surrounding the provenance of documents.
