- Course objectives
- Amorous and amatory poetry may be considered as a dynamic core of the evolution of poetry as whole, for it involves not only the expression of sensibility and emotion, but also the noetic ans ethic functions. The French Renaissance poetry combines the French courtly tradition and Italian influences, enchriched, in the baroque period, by Spanish contributions. The idealizing synthesis of Christian thought and neoplatonism that form the basis of the Renaissance vision of the world breaks into a dual baroque feeling confronting soul and body. This evolution may be observed in texts.
