- Course objectives
- The seminar is aimed to provide a deeper introduction into Sanskrit language through collective reading of selected texts in Sansrit. Students, assisted by the teacher, recite, analyse and translate texts in the devanagari script.
- Learning outcomes
- After passing the course students should be able to:
Read and recite smoothly in devanagari script.
Identify and analyze individually the meaning-carrying units in Sanskrit texts.
Translate from Sanskrit into Czech. - Syllabus
- Continuous collective reading/reciting and translation of texts in Sanskrit. Approximately 10 slokas per meeting.

- Continuous collective reading/reciting and translation of texts in Sanskrit.
- Assessment methods
- Students demonstrate their ability to read and understand Sanskrit text at the colloquium. The use of dictionaries and grammar aids is allowed. The translation delivered at the colloquium makes up 100 % of evaluation in the course.
