- Course objectives
- The objective of the course is the analysis and the study of the languages and varieties characterizing the Italian linguistic repertoire. The student will deepen the elements of variation which are typical of the contemporary Italian and of its varieties, the relashionship and the contact with the dialects.
- Syllabus
- The course deals with the relationship among language, dialects, minority languages and their varieties. The linguistic systems will be studied in a variational perspective (time, areal, context, mean and social changes). Further topics are about the concepts of domain, linguistic community, language attitudes, sociolinguistic prestige and phenomena of contact.

- Lecture and practical activities: explanation, by the teacher, of the basic notions and problems and their application on appropriate linguistic material.

- Oral test and discussion on the research materials. The students who don't attend the courses have to set an alternative syllabus with the teacher.
