Course objectives

The students of the course will be able at the end of the course:
- to connect literary texts and socio-cultural context
- to understand the meaning contexts of literary texts in the society
- to understand the “logics” of creation of a piece of literature and its function
- to get acquainted with some original thinkers and their works
- to create condition for discussions on various topics

Syllabus

• The basic scheme of the course:
• 1. anthropology and culture
• 2. information in the society, cultural information and its specifics
• 3. the process of the genesis of a literary work, its connection with the individual and the society
• 4. the concept of H. Taine
• 5. E. Hennequine and his estopsychology
• 6. psychoanalysis and a literary work – S. Freud
• 7. the concept of C. G. Jung
• 8. the concept of A. N. Whitehead
• 9. the concept of T. de Chardin
• 10. the concept of J. Šmajs
• 11. group discussion about a work selected by the students themselves
• 12. group discussion about a work selected by the students themselves
• 13. the final discussion on a whole complex of themes
