Course objectives
The course is focused on acquiring practical skills in working with the Latin text for art historical use. The main goal is to learn to use selected tools such as dictionaries, grammar, source editions, electronic resources, epigraphic, chronological and other manuals.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: - oriented himself in a Latin-written scientific text; - with the help of the dictionary, the student will be able to understand such a text;
Syllabus
  • Reading, lexical analysis, and translation of Latin texts will be the main activities of the class.

Teaching methods
Basic description of historical concepts in Latin. Students have the opportunity to actively engage in class activities by reading and translating epigraphic inscriptions and short texts.
Assessment methods
A final written examination. Participation in the course is very recommended.
