- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to improve speaking skills by means of different types of exercises. Vocabulary and grammar are consolidated and special attention is given to prosody and pronunciation.
The main goal is to work towards level B2 for Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. - Learning outcomes
- A number of learning objectives are listed below:
- The student can give clear and fairly detailed descriptions of their experiences
- Is able to formulate their opinion clearly and in a structured way
- Can respond quickly and appropriately
- Can ask questions in case of uncertainty or for their own benefit
- Can give instructions and provide information
- Can express himself fluently and with a clear pronunciation
- Can give a well-structured presentation - Syllabus
- - Monologues: giving information, formulating one's opinion, giving a presentation, elevator pitch, deliver a speech, etc.
- - Conversations: exchanging information, different types of interviews, sales pitch, negotiation, bad news conversations, discussions, etc.
- - Pronunciation and prosody: problematic sounds, word and sentence stress, intonation and prosody
