- Prerequisites
- Student will recognize a specific area of psychological counselling that aims to solve problems of partnership, marriage and family. Lectures provide insight into therapeutic approaches and trends applicable in this field of applied psychology.

- Course objectives
- Objective of the course:
To acquaint students with the matters of marriage and family therapy and utilisation of theoretical knowledge in the practical counseling process. Students are presented with topics which aim to help them recognize proper methods of treating target groups that comprise families and couples as well as single troubled individuals. This is an applied discipline, therefore all the theory is linked to practical examples. The last two lectures are dedicated to the usage of particular techniques to experience effect of the counseling process itself. - Learning outcomes
- Student acquires relevant knowledge about the issues of individuals, couples and families; Student learns how to apply theoretical knowledge in the field; gains the ability to describe particular topics of working with clients, will be able to differentiate between therapeutical approaches; awarness of the issues will help students to choose the appropriate training to further their counseling skills and possibly a deeper work with families.

Technique demonstration. - Assessment methods
- Subject is finalized with a written test of 26 items and a 2 to 4 page essay with topics that are announced at least one month ahead. 21.5 points are required to pass the written test (complete answer gets you 1 point, incomplete yields 0.5 point, wrong or missed answers are awarded with 0 points).
