Course objectives
The aim of the course is to develop the knowledge about world historiography in 20th century. The students will learn about personalities, main trends and methodological approaches. They will understand paradigmatic changes, key social discussions of historians and relationships of history and social sciences (philosophy, sociology, political science). They will develop the knowledge they gained in the bachelor degree programme.
Learning outcomes
Students should know the development of historiography from the crisis of historism to postmodern period,
critical interpretation of historiographic texts,
the knowledge of the principal authors and works,
the knowledge of the contemporary methodical and conceptual problems.
