- Course objectives
- The course objective is to provide a better understanding of the process of ethnogenesis of the Slovak nation and basic facts on Slovak folk culture.
- Syllabus
- Ethnogenesis of the Slovaks and their transformation into a modern nation. Slovaks abroad. Ethnic composition of present-day Slovakia and its problems. Historiography of Slovak ethnography (Enlightenment, national revival). Development of Slovak ethnology as a scientific discipline (20th century). Contemporary Slovak ethnology and anthropology.
