Course objectives
Foreign internship is an internship at a foreign academic or research center of usually three months.
The objective is to broaden the professional, language and cultural competences of the student within good practice, thus increasing the quality of the graduates and their application in practice.
Learning outcomes
After finishing this course, students will have been able to:
Use professional, linguistic and cultural competences gained in a foreign internship.
Use examples of good practice.
Increase their competitiveness in the labor market.
Syllabus
  • The internship is organized by the student in cooperation with the Department coordinator for Erasmus program (or for foreign relations) and the Course Leader.
  • The internship selection is based on given selection rules (depending on the type of supporting program).
  • Part of the tender is a motivation letter detailing the intended objective, duration and content of the internship.
  • The final decision on placing a student to internship is subject to the agreement of the Course Leader.
  • The realization of internship is recommended during the 2nd or 3rd semester.
  • It is recommended to take advantage of the Erasmus program, or other programs which support student internships.

Teaching methods
Foreign internship, written report from the internship.
The subject has two variants: (a) a long-term internship (min. 90 days) and a short-term one (min. 30 days).
The short-term internship is primarily intended for students of main study plan.
Students can enroll either at the beginning of the semester in which they leave for the internship, if they know they would properly attend the internship, or in the following semester after completing the internship.
Assessment methods
Written report from the internship.
The report describes and evaluates the internship and its integral part is a documented list of completed study and professional activities (courses, research activities, etc.).
The model form of the report is located in the study materials of the subject.
The report is submitted within 14 days of returning from the internship.
The report is published on the Department´s website as a part of motivational and experience sharing.
