- Course objectives
- Introduce insights into theoretical and practical frame of developing social innovations and into design thinking. Look for possibilities of community and social roles of libraries, particular innovations and services of these areas. Create opportunities to design new service/innovation/project with a chance of real impact on users of particular library/organiazation.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course a student will be well informed about social innovations of library and information services, will be able to make use of principles and methods of community mapping, service design, user research, creating service or product prototypes and user tensting.

- theory: community roles of libraries, sociál innovations in Czech libraries, design process;
- mapping context, problems, possibilities, stakeholders, barriers
- user research
- analysis of research data, definign a challenge, user journey mapping

- creating a service prototype

- Teaching methods
- Theoretical training, workshops, field practical training.
- Assessment methods
- Presence in all workhsops and meetings is obligatory. The course evaluation is based on the attendance and participation, followed by presentig a developed and validated service prototype. The course includes field user research, performed in between meetings.
