- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to inform students about the basic psychological functioning disorders, about the systematic classification of this disorders, and about their continuity with the non-pathological parts (characteristics/processes) of the mind.
- Learning outcomes
- Students are able to:
- identify the basic psychological functioning disorders;
- describe the systematic classification of the basic psychological functioning disorders;
- distinguish disorders of the basic psychological functioning from the non-pathological characteristics/processes of the mind. - Syllabus
- 1.Psychopathology - introduction; standards and mental health and mental illness; the role of psychiatry and psychology in the care of the mentally ill; 4 historical milestones of psychiatry; content of general and special psychopathology and psychiatry; organization of psychiatric care in our country 2. Causes of mental disorders - biological aspects, psychosocial and transcendental aspects, holistic approach in psychiatry 3. Contemporary classification systems ICD 10 and DSM V 4. Perception disorders 5. Attention and memory disorders 6. Thought disorders 7. Disorders of speech and intellectual ability 8. Instinct disorders 9. Emotional disorders 10. Disorders of will and behavior 11. Disorders of consciousness and personality disorders 12. Case studies, educational films

- Teaching is realized as lectures which contains some practical examples or case studies.
- Assessment methods
- Teaching proceeds two teaching hours once a week. This course is completed with a credit and an exam. Finalization is the standard oral exam. Psychopathology is a part of the B.A. examination.
