Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are the following:
students will get acquainted with the procedure for the preparation and implementation of exhibitions and expositions;
get acquainted with practical examples of exhibitions and expositions;
try a practical analysis of the exhibition and exposition.;
They will get acquainted with marketing and public relations exhibitions and expositions;
They will get acquainted with museum pedagogy for exhibitions and expositions.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, a student will be able to:
- understand to possible process of application of theoretical knowledge to preperation and realization of exhibition in museum practice
- arrange own exhibition project and be ready to realize it
Syllabus
  • Principles of Museum Exhibitions;
  • Preparation process - theme, libretto, script;
  • Preparation and realization of travelling exhibitions on the example of an exhibition on Damascus steel in the Technical Museum in Brno;
  • Museum exhibition criticism, criteria for evaluation of museum exhibitions and expositions;
  • Realization of the exhibition and their parameters - architecture, objects, graphics, texts, lighting, showcases and panels, multimedia, interactive elements;
  • Preparation and implementation of large exhibition projects, international cooperation;
  • Loans of objects for exhibitions, their preparation and realization, both domestic and international;
  • Museum exhibitions and marketing and public relations, promotion and advertising of exhibitions;
  • Cooperation with the media, preparation and implementation of press conferences;
  • Accompanying events to exhibitions, specifics of events for children, schools and seniors, their preparation and implementation.
