Prerequisites
Prerequisite for participation in the course: knowledge of theory relating to participles as required at the B.A. level, skills in using the Czech National Corpus.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to revise and enlarge students' knowledge of the structure of participles, including also standard research analyses carried out by the teacher.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to use the knowledge of modern linguistic theories: (a) to analyse the internal structure of Czech participles; (b) to analyse the syntactic structure of Czech participle phrases
Syllabus
  • 1. Verbs, 2. Participles, 3. Adjectives, 4. Preterite forms, 5. Passive forms.
Literature
  • Literatura tohoto předmětu je shodná s literaturou požadovanou ke zkoušce z předmětu Současný č. jazyk - morfologie (bakalářské studium).
Teaching methods
The first part of the course is a lecture, the second part in an independent research work carried out by the students. Students will be directly involved in work on particular problems relating to participles.
