Course objectives
The course aims to expose students to the expertise of well-established designers and researchers from various sectors. Our objective is to impart practical knowledge about the leadership and management aspects of the design industry through lectures by industry experts.
The goal is to prepare students for real-life organisational/business challenges and topics. Apart from design practice and theory, they should also have a basic understanding of how design departments work in practice and what challenges they face in various organisational maturity phases. The course also provides them with tools and knowledge to be able to build successful cases to advance strategic design topics within an organisation.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Understand the general complexities and challenges faced by design teams in organisations.
2. Identify and analyse organisational imperfections, bottlenecks, and challenges.
3. Propose effective solutions and improvements to existing organisational issues.
