Prerequisites
The prerequisites are knowledge of the language at B2/C1 level.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to impart knowledge about scientific Portuguese in the areas of social sciences/journalism/, philology and law in different contexts.
Learning outcomes
The student will develop general and linguistic ability to a level approaching C1. They will acquire specialised vocabulary in these areas, i.e. journalism and medicine, mathematics and economics. They will develop their perceptual skills, understand specialised texts (e.g. lectures and interviews on specific topics) and improve their grammatical and semantic competence.
Syllabus
  • The areas covered will be: SOCIAL SCIENCES - journalism MATHEMATICS ECONOMICS MEDICINE Each will have the following structure: INTRODUCTION THEORY PRACTICAL PART PORTUGUESE LIVE PUBLIC OPINION Each part is made up of an authentic audio or video recording, with the teaching scenarios consisting of interactive components (quizzes).

Asynchronous, interactive method (quizzes, listening, perception) Development of quizzes and tests
Assessment methods
Assessment is based on the percentage of success in the tests. At the same time, in the final part, students take a final written exam, the result of which will depend on the final assessment.
