Course objectives
- Use of acquired knowledge from previously completed courses in practise (verification and application of knowledge)
- Creating basic ideas about the inclusion of a particular facility in the system of education and social policy
- Create basic ideas about the overall system and operation
- Equipment, its objectives, services, activities and clients
- Development of critical thinking about   social work
- Development of self-identification with the profession
- Reflection of professional rules and practices (codes, standards ...)

The aim of the practice is to acquaint students with different types of equipment and thus to shorten the adaptation period after entering employment and to create conditions for rapid professional growth.
The aim of the practice is to initiate direct interpretation of students in real situations.
Learning outcomes

Syllabus
  • 1) Introduction - students are given all the information about the whole course of professional practice as well as the final meeting.
  • 2) Fulfillment of practice goals based on specific devices.
  • 3) Fulfillment of interpreting practice in the range of 150 hours.
  • 50hrs. Interpreting Interviews and 100 Hours direct interpreting.
  • Direct Interpreting is divided as follows:
  • 35% interpreting in education (35 hours) Interpreting in schools is considered to be interpreting at the level of kindergartens, elementary schools, secondary schools, universities. Interpreting can take place both in inclusion and in a special school.
  • 30% of community interpreting (30 hours) Community interpreting is considered for this purpose interpreting for a private person at a personal meeting. Typical examples are interpreting with a doctor, a court, and an office.
  • 35% unspecified interpretation (35 hours) Unspecified interpretation is chosen by the student himself. It is an advantage to include in this category interpreting, which the student wants to specialize in his professional orientation.
  • Certain parts of direct interpreting can be replaced by a translation, but at most 25% (25 hours).
  • 4) Final meeting - Students will present each other, through short papers, facilities where they have practiced, briefly describe their activities and gained experience. Before the final meeting (no later than 3 days in advance), the students submit their workbooks and interpreting diary to their evaluation. The final meeting will be listed as a credit term at the same time.

Assessment methods
The student will submit a diary of practise (track record of professional practice) after passing the practice, which at least contains:
1) Confirmation by the staff member about the number of days and hours of professional practice.
2) Brief characteristics and focus of the device.
3) A report on the practice (2 pages - writes the student). The report contains a description of the activities the student has practiced, the course and the conclusions (benefits, experience for the future, etc.).
4) Appraisal of the student by the responsible employee of the facility.

Students will submit an interpreting journal (records of the type and extent of interpreting / translations), which at least includes:
1) Alert confirmation (confirmed by the interpreter or organizer of the event).
2) Confirmation of direct interpreting (confirms the deaf client, event organizer or sending organization).

The student is obliged to attend the introductory and final meetings. Each student has an assigned consultant. Continuous individual consultations may or may not be used. However, the student must have at least one individual consultation on the interpreting diary (the Consultant is ready to answer questions related to interpreting practice, profession and interpreting dilemmas).
Random hospitality visits can also affect student ratings.
