- Povinný předmět doktorského studia. Každý doktorand musí absolvovat celkem 4 společné doktorské semináře (AED_A01a-d) ve 4 semestrech. Seminář se koná v každém semestru ve třech termínech.

- Course objectives
- In the seminars each student presents his/her dissertation project two times to the audience: first time in the first year of doctoral studies, second time (conclusions) in the third or fourth year of doctoral studies. Each student also holds one methodological presentation addressing the topic of his/her dissertation (Presentation in Doctoral Seminar AED_A02a-c). The objective of the course is to gain experience with public presentation of research work, familiarise oneself with dissertation projects and methodical approaches of colleagues and learn about the basic principles of critical scholarly discussion. The recommended language of the talk, presentation and discussion is English.
- Learning outcomes
- After completion of the course, doctoral student will be able to:
- describe clearly the addressed scholarly topic;
- analyse the input data;
- choose appropriate methods which will contribute to successful work with assigned scholarly topic;
- utilize the existing scientific knowledge in the field of archaeology;
- hold a critical scholarly discussion;
- present the outcomes of his/her own work. - Syllabus
- The seminar is intended for public presentation of doctoral student projects and critical discussion about methodical approaches and achieved results.

- Teaching methods
- Presentations of doctoral students concerning the dissertation topic and methodological issues. Moderated discussion of doctoral students and dissertation advisors about individual presentations.
- Assessment methods
- Each doctoral student in archaeology must attend during his/her studies 4 collective doctoral seminars. Requirements for a successful completion of the course: participation in at least two out of three seminars realised within the given semester.

- The course can be completed multiple times. If doctoral student holds a presentation in the seminar, his/her dissertation advisor must be present. The course-unit credit is awarded by the Secretary for Doctoral Studies.
