Course objectives
Students have to have a minimum of 6 weeks of training. The extent and intensity of teaching can be modified according to the needs and possibilities of the institution. During teacher training practice the students should gain exeprience in teaching Czech as a foreign/second language for young learners and adults. The condition that needs to be met is minimum of 18 hours of teaching (one hour = 45 minutes of teaching). Students will get acquainted with the institution via observation lesson, consulting the supervisor and preparation. During their training the students will have more consulting and preparations which can be supported by lesson plans and materials created for teaching. After having accomplished the minimum hours taught students will write final report and will discuss the training with the supervisor during an interview. The students can cooperate with partners of the Department of Czech Language at the Faculty of Arts not only in our country (language schools, university departments, language centres etc.) but also abroad (university departments, language centres, Czech centres, Czech Schools without Borders etc.). The students will be supervised by the teachers of this course as well as the teachers working at the partner institutions. Distant teaching is also possible (Skype). Besides activities connected to the teaching process itself (lesson planning, teaching materials production etc.)the students broaden their knowledge in the area of getting and giving feedback and in the area of self-reflection.
Learning outcomes

- start teaching Czech as a foreign/second language to young learners and/or adults;
- have a general overview of available teaching and testing materials;
