Course objectives
The content of the seminar is determined by the supervisor, its goal is to create a functional model of group and individual consultations, leading to the successful implementation of dissertation projects. In joint discussions of supervisors and doctoral students of similar theoretical orientation, common scholarly, methodological and technical issues of professional scientific work are discussed. Doctoral students are thus acquainted with the knowledge of contemporary culturual areas studies and at the same time improve their skills and competencies, such as presenting the results of their own research, defending opinions in scholarly discussion or critical interpretation of scholarly sources.
Learning outcomes
Having participated in the course, students will be able:
a) to analyze scholarly sources critically,
b) to identify an object of scientific analysis and to apply an adequate methodology for the purpose of its analysis,
c) to present results of their research,
d) to participate in scholarly discussions,
e) to defend their opoinions in discussions.
Syllabus
  • Individual and group consultations; presentation of problem areas and partial results of individual research work; discussion of relevant topics, methods and concepts - in connection with dissertation topics.

  • Literatura pro doktorský seminář je předepsána individuálně.
Teaching methods
Reading scholarly sources, presentations, discussions.
Assessment methods
Requirements for gaining credits are specified by individual supervisors.
