Course objectives
The exam paper is to check the student’s abilities and knowledge regarding the compulsory subjects (textual criticism, history of literature, history of Italian language, linguistics, linguistics of ancient Italian). It is to be written immediately before the state examination, students are therefore asked to enrol in the same semester during which they are taking the state examination or in the one immediately before. Examination dates are published in the IS.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to define core concepts of compulsory subjects (textual criticism, literature, linguistics, history of Italian language...) in a coherent exposition, eventually applied to concrete cases.

  • Working method applied during the composition of the essay: - reformulation of the topic - definition of the issue, - structure layout, - selecting appropriate arguments and examples on cases from the chosen area, - essay writing

Teaching methods
Application of theoretical knowledge acquired in the course of previous studies on authentic texts. The students show their ability to interconnect on their own their theoretical knowledge and practical analysis of a specific text. Student's individual preparation for the exam.
