- Course objectives
- The aim of the doctoral examination is to verify that the student has appropriate knowledge in the field of his Ph.D. study and that he/she has satisfactory theoretical training for further research. Students will prepare theoretical analysis of five problem-oriented topics from the field of Classical Philology that are not identical with the topic of their dissertation. The exam takes place the earliest after the 4th semester and the latest after the 8th semester.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon successful passing of the examination the student will have detailed knowledge of the given research field and will be able to apply it in the context of his/her own research and study.
- Syllabus
- Consultation with the supervisor and selection of five topics for the oral examination.
- Independent preparation of the selected topics (4-5 pages each, including references to secondary literature).
- Submission of the topics in writing to the examination committee.
- Presentation and discussion about the selected themes during an oral examination (the examination committee will choose two out of the proposed five topics that will be discussed in detail during the oral examination).
