Prerequisites

- Upon entry, students are expected to have a solid proficiency level of CEFR A2.2 (or a solid HSK 3).
- The course is offered EXCLUSIVELY to the students of the Chinese Department of Masaryk University.
- Exceptions could be made ONLY IF an Erasmus student has Chinese Studies as their major at their home university and if the student can present documented proof. Language proficiency certificates (HSK/TOCFL) are NOT accepted.

Course objectives
本课程将配合Chinese V来进行大量的对话练习。
学生在Chinese V已经学习了HSK4的内容,因此在这门课,助教不再教授HSK4,而是协助学生大量进行以HSK4内容为基础的对话练习。
各小组也可按照组员意愿来组织采访,针对课本的主题采访2-3位助教或其他人,采访的内容可投稿至硕士班的学生杂志。采访将在助教的协助下进行。
课程目标在于协助学生以HSK4为基础来熟悉汉语对话,强烈建议学生选修。
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- understand the main points of speech on familiar matters regularly encountered at work, school, leisure, etc.;
- understand texts that consist mainly of high frequency words or job-related language;
- deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken;
- enter a conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to everyday life (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events);
- present clear and detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects related to his/her own field of interest;
- explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
Syllabus
  • The course Drill VI is taught following the syllabus of Chinese VI.
Teaching methods
The teaching assistants will help students engage in extensive conversations to familiarize them with new vocabulary and grammar. They will also assist students in conducting interviews and organizing the interview content into written documents.
Assessment methods
1) Attendance (up to 2 unexcused absences are allowed in one semester). In case of 3 or more unexcused absences, the student fails.
2) In order for an absence to be excused, students must notify the teacher in advance or within 24 hours after the class. If there is an official document (e.g., a medical certificate), students should submit a formal request to study Department of the Faculty.
3) The student needs to fulfill all the tasks given by the teacher (assignments, interviews, etc.) Unpreparedness is judged as absence.
4) Students must not switch study groups, unless the teacher explicitly approved.
