- The course aims to check whether students themselves can understand selected passages from the works by C. Plinius Secundus and L. Annaeus Seneca (the philosopher).
- Learning outcomes
- The students should be able to understand and translate selected passages (see Course Contents) from the works by C. Plinius Secundus and L. Annaeus Seneca (the philosopher) and comment on their linguistic characteristics and historical context.

- Teaching methods
- The course is not regularly taught during the semester. Individual reading of selected passages, use of dictionaries and other tools, and, if necessary, consultation with the teacher.
- Assessment methods
- The knowledge of the texts is tested by translating selected passages into Czech and commenting on their linguistic features. The examination is written. Examination takes place during the examination period as well as during the semester (in the latter case, it is necessary to make an appointment personally or by e-mail).
