Course objectives
The aim of this course is to learn what are the basic types of interpreting. The student will learn the basic techniques of interpreting and the basics of notation for interpreters. Besides the theory of interpreting the student will actively exercise interpreting from Dutch to Czech, first on summarizing of written texts in Czech. After aqcuiring enough skills the student will proceed to interpretation of Dutch spoken texts. This course should prepare the student for interpreting in basic situations, on conferences and meetings with not a too specific topic.
