Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide in-depth information about proofreading rules. Prerequisite for the course is a good knowledge of Czech orthographic norm and understanding of proofreading symbols. Course is focusing on correct usage of proofreading symbols and on actual use of those symbols while marking orthographic, syntactic, typographical and factual errors in text. Lessons consist mainly of practical work. Classes will take place in computer classroom allowing each student to try both paper and electronic form of proofreading. Every lesson will focus on working with text to simulate typical proofreading work in publishing houses and in editorial departments of newspapers and magazine publishers.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will: - be able to do complete proofreading, - make a complete revision of text by using different tools, - be able to correct the text in accordance with the Rules of Czech Spelling and with the Standard for Editing of Documents, - make proofreading of different types of text.

To successfully complete the course it is required to actively participate seminars and lectures, return all given home works on time and pass final written exam.
