Course objectives
The course is taught in Modern Greek. The main aims of the course are: developing basic communicative abilities in Modern Greek (CEFR B1); practice of grammatical phenomena and topics dealt with in Modern Greek Grammar IV (lessons 29-38 of the Basics of Modern Greek).
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
actively communicate in Modern Greek; to produce a text concerning discussed topics; to understand Modern Greek texts which deal with the discussed topics.
Syllabus
  • Conversation topics: internet and social networking, greek cinematography, curriculum vitae, application form, Greek book market,short survey of Greek history and the history of Greek language, short survey of Modern Greek literature, Greek songs and music.
  • Topics from Greek magazines, newspapers and literature, watching videos about Greece.
  • Independent oral and writing practice.
