Course objectives
The individual consultations with the thesis supervisor as necessary, according to the student’s need and regarding the quality and completeness of the work. The master’s thesis solves a partial scientific problem regarding to the field of study. Students must demonstrate their ability to work independently in keeping with academic standards, a knowledge and understanding of the relevant scholarly literature and the ability to analyse the researched material.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the student will be able:
- to independently formulate the hypothesis, the structure and the time plan of the graduate thesis;
- to independently find and to process relevant science literature according to thematic orientation of the thesis;
- to offer appropriate methods of collecting the data and to collect so the material for the research;
- to independently describe, analyse, interpret and evaluate the collected data;
- to write the graduate thesis of the required length and standard language and formal quality according to the rules and regulations about master’s thesis.
Syllabus
  • The course takes the form of individual consultations with the thesis supervisor; the process of writing the thesis and the attendance on consultations are classified in this semester as got credit or not.
  • 1. Work with appropriate scientific literature.
  • 2. The analyses, interpretation and evaluating of the collected material.
  • 3. The evaluation and application of the science findings from secondary literature.
  • 4. The writing of particular chapters and the summary.
  • The structure of the course will be clear from the consultations of the thesis supervisor and the student.

Individual consultations.
Assessment methods
Credit for this course is awarded by the thesis supervisor based on his/her evaluation of the student’s progress in writing the diploma thesis.
