- Course objectives
- The aim of the doctoral examination is to test the student's orientation in selected issues of general, synchronic and diachronic linguistics of Slavic languages according to his/her area of focus in the South Slavic, East Slavic or West Slavic language area.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon successful passing of the examination the student will have detailed knowledge of the given research field and will be able to apply it in the context of his/her own research and study.
- Syllabus
- The problem areas broaden the specialisation focus of the PhD student and are mainly focused on orientation in the field and the ability to argue. The questions relate to particular areas of scientific training in synchronic and diachronic Slavic linguistics and are published in the course materials.

- Assessment methods
- The doctoral examination is public and takes place before a committee composed of experts in the given specialisation, at least two of whom are external. At least 60 days before the examination, the doctoral student receives 9 questions from 3 thematic areas from the examination committee for preparation, and then answers one question from each thematic area at the examination according to the choice of the committee members.
