- Course objectives
- The lecture introduces students to the modes of representation of the European aristocracy of the 18th century, connects the published findings characterizing the centers of politics and art (Paris, Rome, St. Petersburg, Vienna) with unpublished archive surveys concerning local history - aristocratic settlements in the Czech lands. Passing the course acquires a basic orientation in the literature on the subject and an overview of the possibilities of new archival findings that can be used to select topics and prepare bachelor and master's thesis.
- Learning outcomes
- The early-modern-age material for study serves not only as a closed system of knowledge, but also encourages students to do concrete research efforts. Those can lead to the definition of a bachelor or master's thesis.
