- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to offer a general overview of the most important literary works of the second half of the 20th century. Meant as a complement to the course "Czech literature in the 2nd half of the 20th century", it shall give to the students a more complex view.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course student will be able to:
- interpret literary text and place it in the context of the work of a given author or artistic movement/period;
- formulate his/her own reading experience;
- argue his/her own opinion in the point of meaning and value of literary work;
- create his/her own system of notes about books. - Syllabus
- The seminar group led in Spring semseter 2025 by Mgr. Urbaničová, Mgr. Koutská and Mgr. et Mgr. Kos will offer a view of Czech literature of the second half of the 20th century as a continuous story linked by cultural and historical discourse and its changes. An interactive curriculum will help to reflect on the period; the selected books should reflect the individual stages of the history of literature. - The seminar group of Dr. Křeček and Dr. Záhora will focus on literary works which represent various literary-historical stages and developmental tendencies in the poetics of individual authors. We will gradually focus on the following texts (the final version of the syllabus will be specified after the first meeting, all relevant study texts will be available in the seminar IS study materials):
