Course objectives
The aim of the course is to teach teachers:
- to work effectively with media,
- analyze media content,
- recognize credible and manipulative sources of information,
- identify disinformation strategies,
- apply the principles of critical thinking.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the trainee will be able to:
- effectively analyse media content of Czech and Russian texts,
- recognize credible and manipulative sources of information,
- correctly identify media disinformation strategies,
- effectively apply the basic principles of critical thinking when working with media content and factual information sources in general.
Syllabus
  • 1. Media literacy - principles of critical thinking and analysis of media content.
  • 2. Working with information sources - trustworthy and manipulative sources in the context of Russian language teaching.
  • 3. Didactic integration - methods and tools for integrating media education into Russian language teaching.
  • 4. Prevention of misinformation - identification of misinformation strategies.
  • 5. Practical skills - application of acquired knowledge to specific teaching situations and materials.

Assessment methods
In order to successfully complete the course, it is necessary to attend at least 3 of the 4 seminars/meetings and pass the final interview on the topics covered. The course also includes partial independent home preparation and its control in the form of continuous oral and written testing and a final interview.
