- Course objectives
- Practical course of molecular methods for analysis of procaryotic genome and methods of bacterial genetics.
- Syllabus
- Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis of bacterial genomic DNA (preparation of samples, digestion with restriction endonuclease SmaI, PFGE). Isolation of spontaneous mutants of Staphylococcus aureus resistant to antibiotics on gradient agar plates. Fluctuation test and estimation of mutation rate. Conjugation of Escherichia coli. Replica plating. Isolation of auxotroph mutants of Staphylococcus aureus.
