Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: define teaching and learning processes in biology lessons (principle of the education of biology, teaching methods, didactical principles); arrange biological lectures on the high/grammar school, make up the didactic test and prepare laboratory experiments and field excursions.

Syllabus
  • Didactics of biology is the study concerned with teaching and learning processes in biology lessons. The focus will be on the theoretical development of biology lessons in school- and out-of-school locations. Curriculum of the biology on the high/grammar school. Biological terms formation. 3. Object-teaching. Scientific teaching. 4. Lectures. Dialog and discussion. 5. School experiments. 6. Schoolbooks on the high/grammar school. 7. Lesson-preparation. 8. Field excursions. 9. Education products (preparation, demonstration). 10. Botanical and zoological keys and atlases, webs, journal of didactic of biology. 11. Knowledge mapping: test, examination. 12. Creativity and motivation in biology teaching; 13. Work with the gifted students (The Biology Olympiad).
