- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students are able to:
work efficiently and routinely with light microscope;
prepare hand sections from native plant material;
to understand the structure of plant cells, tissues and organs;
measure and interpret some basic physiological processes in higher plants using modern methods and techniques. - Learning outcomes

- Plant cell: nucleus, plastids, vacuole, cell wall, cell inclusions, plasmodesms.
- Types of plant cells and tissues, simple and complex tissues, types of tissues: meristems, epidermal, vascular, ground.
- Primary structures of vegetative organs: root, stem, leaf.
- Secondary structure of root and stem.
- Measurement of plant transpiration, respiration and photosynthesis rate.
