Prerequisites
Standard courses of quantum mechanics, solid state physics, thermodynamics, statistical physics and surface diagnostics.

- The course will be open only if 2 or more students enroll in it.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
"Always learn from the best". The course consists of series of topical lectures on central disciplines of current nanoscience. To provide the most actual informations on current development, the topics are presented by well recognized researchers involved in the given field. The experts from five different Czech institutions - Masaryk University, Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Technical University in Prague, Technical University of Liberec and Brno University of Technology - will introduce students to key ideas, concepts and tools to their everyday research agenda. The main goal of the course is to provide students a broader perspective for future deployment of their doctoral plasma-physics and plasma-chemistry training.
Learning outcomes
Student completing this course will be able to describe key ideas, main research agenda and application potential in the fields of:
- plasmonics;
- nanodiamond systems research;
- biomimetics and biomedicine;
- electrochemistry;
- chemical methods of nanomaterials synthesis and/or functionalization.
