- Course objectives
- The course summarizes the major methods of geological documentation of geological exploration works (wells, pits, tunnels ...), underground structures (tunnels, shafts, galeries, etc.) and basic mine mapping. At the same time it familiarizes with the current legislation and teaches to work with technical standards.
- Learning outcomes
- The student completing the course should handle independently the processing of documentation from exploration work and development of mining maps and cross-sections.
- Syllabus
- Search and exploration of deposits, rock properties and stress states in the massif. A set of activities connected with deep mining of deposits. Opening and preparation of deposits of various types for mining. Basic principles of used mining methods and mechanization. Methods of termination of mining in mines, their conservation and disposal. Quarrying of useful raw materials - opening and mining work. Mechanization equipment for coal quarries, stone quarries, gravel pits and sand pits. Drainage forefields of quarries and quarry operations. Geotechnological methods of mining solid deposits. Eradication of the consequences of mining activity, rehabilitation and reclamation of terrains.
