- Course objectives
- This subject is focused on basic functions and principles of electron microscope and related detectors as well as principles electron microscopy and microanalysis. Students will do elemental calibration and measurement of samples.
- Learning outcomes
- the student will be able to: - operate the basic functions of an electron microscope and an electron microprobe. - prepare a sample for electron microanalysis (cleaning, carbon coating). - insert the sample into the microscope chamber - set the microscope parameters -observe the sample in SE and BSE, acquire pictures in SE and BSE -make elemental calibration -run elemental analysis -export and check of data
- Syllabus
- the student will practically get to know: - basic operations while using the electron microscope and electron microprobe. - preparing the samples for electron microanalysis (cleaning, carbon/gold coating). - insert the sample into the chamber of the device - set the microscope parameters -observe the sample in SE and BSE, taking a picture in SE and BSE -principles of elemental calibration -acquiring of elemental analysis -data export and control.
- Teaching methods
- laboratory exercises on the electron microscope and electron microprobe, study materials in IS
- Assessment methods
- practical testing of acquired skills, about 30 min
- Náhradní absolvování
- Due to the practical nature of lecture, an alternative form is difficult.
- Language of instruction
- Czech
- Further Comments
- The course can also be completed outside the examination period.
