Course objectives
The course introduces students to current demographic challenges in a socio-geographic context and to advanced techniques in geographic analysis of population dynamics and structure.
Learning outcomes
The course enables to acquire competence in methodologies and processing of detailed analyses of demographic phenomena and population structure. At the same time, students will be able to evaluate and interpret the results obtained in the context of geographical variability of population ageing and spatial patterns of migration behaviour.

  • 1. Current trends in population dynamics and their impacts. 2. Current trends in population structure and their impacts. 3. Methods of analysis of population dynamics and structure. 4. Determinants and changes in fertility. 5. Population ageing in a socio-geographical context.
