Course objectives
This course serves to develop the various aspects of the study of population development and settlement systems. In addition to the thematic (content) approach, emphasis is placed on the scale of observation (research), starting from the micro to the macro or global level. Applications in regional development and in guiding the development of society are not neglected.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be oriented in the current trends of population development and settlement structure at different hierarchical levels. They will be able to outline a perspective, including a decimation approach, based on the use of relevant theory and data.

Teaching methods
The course will take the form of personal consultations between the lecturers and students. The focus of the work is the self-study of texts.
Assessment methods
Discussion of the content of the read texts that are relevant to the thematic content of the subject and the theoretical understanding of the student's dissertation. The subject of the evaluation is a critical interpretation of the texts for the dissertation.
