Course objectives
Vector spaces over R: definition of a vector space, linear combi- nation,linear dependence and independence, subspaces, bases and di- mension of a vector space. Matrices over R: matrix operations, determinant, row-echelon matrices, rank,inverse of a matrix. Systems of linear equations: solvability, Cramer's rule, Gauss elimi- nation method,homogeneous systems, vector space of solutions, funda- mental system of solutions.
