- Course objectives
- Object and assiguments of thematic cartography. Map collections and cartographic informative funds. Cartographic interpretation of special thematic map contens. Legends of thematic maps. Value scales, size scales. Advancements and productions of thematic maps, map diagrams and choropleth maps. Groing old of map content and map modernizing. Czech and world map productions, thematic atlases - national, regional and world. Appraising and utilising of maps in scince research. Main rends of thematic map development. Remote Sensing as a source of data for thematic cartography. Historical overview. Specila features of image data, hard copy images and digital images. Principles of spectral signatures and multispectral images Basic types of images Methods of aerial imagery data production, methods of interpretation Satellite systems, multispectral scanners Contemporary satellite systems and its characteristic Principles of thematic mapping using satellite imagery Application of satellite maps in various kinds of human activities.
